Paintings by Shelley

Shelley Rose Turley is a native Californian who was born in Oakland and raised in San Francisco. Her love for art started at a young age with sketching. Prior to working in oils, she worked with charcoals, pen and ink, winning several awards for her work.

In 1971 Shelley took up oil painting with the renowned Italian artist Roberto Lupetti. Later on, she was invited by another master artist, Luis Busta of Chile, to join his Advanced Oil Techniques Workshop in San Mateo.

The artist has developed a classical, realistic style which shows her great sense of color harmony and composition. Her work is represented by a vast spectrum of themes such as landscapes, seascapes and still-life.

Shelley's paintings are a reflection of her many years of training and her great attention for detail. She has also been greatly influenced by her many travels to European museums to study the art work of the old world masters.

Shelley currently resides in Napa, California and is working on a series of paintings of the surrounding picturesque wine country.

* What is a giclee? A giclee is an individually produced, high-resolution, high-fidelity, high tech reproduction done on a special large format printer. Giclees are produced from digital scans of existing artwork. Giclees are superior to traditional lithograph copies. The details are crisper, the colors are brighter and they last longer.
